"...Yes, I would come again because this production gave my students not only information, but a ‘feeling’ for the plight of the slaves."

"...Sixth grade students as well as my adult chaperones enjoyed and learned from this experience..."

"My students learned by being involved in the experience of GLORY ROAD! …It was very effective having music with the show...(My students are teens)"

"The information was appropriate for my fourth grade students and fit into their curriculum very well. I will bring my students next year to this production..."

"...Is it possible for you to travel to area schools so that more students could learn from and participate in this excellent production?"

"My students (grades 3-6) really learned from this production. They also loved the music. I would certainly bring my students to theatre productions of other historical issues concerning Delaware County."

PARENTS -

"We wanted to drop you a note expressing how much our family enjoyed the production. American history is a required subject and GLORY ROAD! brought history right to our back door The children were attentive to the show, singing the songs when we arrived back home and recounting the story line. I hope that there will be future productions depicting other historical events happening in the Delaware County. Carol D. and Family

I brought my teenage daughters… I wasn’t sure they were impressed because they wanted to leave so quick after the play. Later that night, they told me they had been outside dancing and singing their heritage. I was not sure what they meant by ‘heritage.’ They smiled and said, "Glory Road!" They were impressed after all! This is the way to do history!! Kristi W.

‘My favorite part was when everybody realized that History wasn’t boring." Lindsay S., 3rd grade

"My favorite part was when the man that was looking for the slaves came and asked us where the slaves went. We all lied to him but we didn’t have to pay the fine." Gabrielle W., 3rd grade

"That was a wonderful play! I never knew so many black people invented so many things! Our world would be nothing without black people. Well, keep performing." Molly, 3rd grade

"It taught me a lot. I am sure glad that there are no more slaves. The play was funny but some of the parts were sad. I liked the music and the outfits." Katherine, 4th grade

"I’m thinking of writing a book called "Slave Girl" and your production gave me lots of information. I will send it to you when I’m done." Tiana D., 6th grade

"I liked the part when Robert was lost and was singing the song with his horse, Star. I was lost once too...I loved the whole play..." Chris R., 5th grade

"What I learned from "Glory Road!": I learned that whites sold blacks. I learned that when a slave ran away that the masters would pay someone to find the slaves. I also learned that some whites helped blacks run away from their master and slavery." Benjamin J., 5th grade

"I thought, when I was watching this show, that it is good not to hate history." Kelsey, 5th grade

"You guys made history sound a lot more fun that I used to think it was. Thanks again for putting on the cool play. Craig, 6th grade

"We thought this play was fantastic...We learned a lot of new facts...It would have been very sad to live in those times and we are glad that we will never have to live without choices." Brian & Barry, 5th grade

"Glory Road! was an historical adventure. I was really into it. Actually Glory Road! to me meant something. It meant to me that you can have fun in history." Arastish J., 6th grade

"Also I have learned that when something sounds dull, after finally trying it, it really doesn’t seem so dull any more, like history. Do you think we could come back? Did you learn anything when you were acting out the play?" Kellie D., 5th grade
